Working in parts at a dealer can be fun because you get to know all the shops around and the people that work there. There is on transmission shop though that won’t talk to me. I get it, everyone has their preferred person to talk to, but they just called and when they asked for the other guy, I was the only one at the counter, he said he would try back later. Now i don’t normally mind that, but seriously I was the only guy to talk to on the phone. Yes I will admit that I messed up an order of theirs a while back, but it happens we are all human. I get asked for too by shops, but if I am busy or on the phone they will talk to anyone else. I just feel irked that they would rather delay their customer than talk to me....

Yeah, that’s dumb for them to not realize that mistakes happen and that they should give you a second chance instead of screwing over a customer. I am the last person who should be saying this, but try to not let it get to you. I feel like you are a hard worker and that you don’t deserve how this shop treats you, but considering it is the only shop, they’ll soon realize their mistake when it comes to needing you the most.

It doesn’t usually bother me, but today it just got to me and it has been two hours and they haven’t called back. Maybe it wasn’t important, but they don’t call to just chit chat....

It wasn’t important then. I think that they just have poor people skills.

Ha ha right though. There isn’t a conspiracy on good shops getting better treatment and their parts delivered first. No Illuminati here.
Yes that Holden is amazing!! And to think we only get the CTS wagon here. So sad.

My primary role at work right now is customer interaction, I am incredibly uncomfortable and drained in that role, but customers seem to enjoy talking with me. I have some genuinely pleasant experiences. Some genuinely unpleasant. And I have to say the same things many times a day in more and more simple terms until people understand. but more than anything Ijust want to get back to the shop floor and go elbows deep on a car.
I envy you of the parts counter and your ability. I could not survive on interaction sales or service writing alone.

Man, I don’t think I could just be a customer interaction on the phone all the time. It would just drain me. But yeah I get you, I have some really pleasant conversations with people and the nice part is a lot of it is either in person or with technicians. Then aside from shops calling, I can put a face to almost every customer if the buy something because they have to come in to get it, so that’s a nice parts.
